A look at the current projects in the commune of Niederanven
During the sitting of the Commune council on 14 November 2025, the project to convert the grass pitch at Stade Jos Becker into a synthetic pitch was approved. After analyzing which type of pitch would be most suitable for Stade Jos Becker, the decision was made in favor of a synthetic pitch. This will allow for eight times more usage time. In the future, not only senior matches but also youth matches and numerous training sessions can be held. To minimize environmental impact, the Commune of Niederanven opted for an unfilled synthetic pitch.
During the Commune council meeting on 26 June 2025, the project to install a rainwater drainage system in the vicinity of the Town hall was approved.
The project entails the installation of a new reinforced concrete pipeline, 310 metres in length, running from Rue d’Ernster to the retention basin “PAP Schommeschwues”, up to the overflow at the “Bouneschbaach” stream, which is located behind the municipal administration building.
This new system will allow the drainage of rainwater from Rue d’Ernster and from various recently completed projects in the area (PAP Cité Wakelter, PAP Um Wakelter, PAP Op Pelgert), as well as rainwater from PAP Schommeschwues.
Adaptation works to the overflow are also planned in order to connect this new pipeline. A concrete structure is also planned to cross the existing combined sewer located at the rear of PAP Schommeschwues.
The project also provides for the restoration of infrastructure situated between the rear of PAP Schommeschwues and the overflow.
The works will start in parallel with the progress of the PAP NQ Schommeschwues project. Work is scheduled to commence at the end of 2025.
At its meeting on September 26, 2025, the communal council of the commune of Niederanven voted in favor of the renovation project for the cultural center “Loisi”, designed to meet the growing needs of the population in terms of culture, sports, and community life.

At its meeting on 27 June 2025, the Commune Council voted unanimously in favour of a project to build a new childcare centre in Senningerberg. The future ‘Bëschcrèche’, located on the edge of the forest near the scout hut, will be able to accommodate around 60 children. The project also includes the construction of dormitories that can accommodate up to 30 scouts. Work is scheduled to begin in 2026. The completion of the construction and the opening of the crèche are planned for 2029.
During the sitting of the Commune council on 25 October 2024, the project of an eventual energy park in Niederanven was discussed.

During the sitting of the Commune council on 21 March 2025, the project to create a bed&bike facility in the water tower at Senningerberg was approved. The aim of the project is to renovate and convert the former Binnewee water tower at Senningerberg into a bed&bike tourist accommodation facility.
During the sitting of the Commune council on 21 March 2025, the preparatory works project for the extension and renovation of the cycle 1 of the school ''Am Sand'' was approved. For more information, please see the presentation below.
A new water reservoir is being built in Senningerberg to guarantee the supply of water to the airport and the new projects in the surrounding area. The reservoir has a volume of 2400m3 and will have a green roof to blend in with the landscape and be more sustainable. Construction of the tank has already begun and is expected to take 2 years.
At the sitting of the Commune council on 17 January 2025, the project to upgrade the bus stop ''Charly's Station'' at Rue du Golf in Senningerberg was approved. Following the upgrade, people with reduced mobility can use the bus better at this stop.
During the sitting of the Commune council on 17 January 2025, the project to make the pedestrian crossing on the Route de Trèves in Senningerberg safer was approved. This pedestrian crossing is located at the junction of the N1 with the Rue du Bois and the Rue de Neuhausgen. To improve safety at this point, the pedestrian crossing will be secured by a traffic light.
At the sitting of the commune council meeting on the 29th of March 2024, the project to redesign the Rue des Romains and build a cycle path was approved. For this project, a cycle path will be built over a length of 475 metres and the roads and pavements between the intersections of Rue des Romains / Rue des Sapins and Rue des Romains / Rue des Pins will be adapted for a speed limit of 30 km/h. In addition, the bus stop in Rue des Romains will be made compliant and the ‘'trottoir traversant'' at the entrance to Rue des Pins will be adapted.
Here are a few current projects that are helping to make our town safer and traffic calmer:
- Reconstruction of the Rue du Château in Senningen - 30km/h zone introduced
- Pedestrian crossings in rue de Munsbach in Niederanven
- Redevelopment of the bus stop "Schetzel" in Oberanven
- Creation of a pavement in the Rue Pincipale in Hostert
With regard to the redevelopment of the ''Duerfplaz'' in Ernster, ideas for a new village centre in Ernster were collected together with the citizens during two workshops on the 18th of May 2022 and the 19th of October 2022. The results of these workshops were presented to the citizens on the 8th of March 2023 during an information evening.
At its meeting on September 26, 2025, the communal council of the commune of Niederanven gave the green light to the redevelopment project of the village center in Ernster, combined with the implementation of a 30 km/h speed limit on the Rue Principale (CR132) in the center and the securing of the village entrances.
At the meeting of the town council on the 24th of February 2023, the project for the renovation and extension of the stadium Jos Becker was voted. The project includes a conversion of the existing building and an extension to make better use of the premises in the future and to provide more space. The extension of the stadium will mainly involve the renovation and expansion of the players' cabins and the tribune.
From a technical point of view, the building will be modernised to meet current standards. The gas heating system will be replaced by an aerothermal heat pump, which will be positioned in the southern part of the pitch. A modernised ventilation system will be installed in a technical room above the press cabin. A new rainwater tank will be used for watering. A photovoltaic system is planned on the roofs.
A new and important project voted in the municipal council on the 24th of February 2023. We are talking about a medical centre next to the old police building in Oberanven. A number of doctors, both general practitioners and specialists, are expected to be able to set up practice here in the Rue Andethana from 2026 onwards.
During the municipal council of the 1st of April 2022, the project ''Haff Peter'' at Rue Laach was voted. In addition to the realisation of flats for senior citizens and affordable housing, a literary café is to be built here in the future, as well as a community centre at the entrance to the new neighbourhood, where artists, start-ups and local associations (Club50Plus & Club Senior) can be accommodated.
